Plan B: The Trip of A Lifetime

Now in development for a feature film, in Plan B, the author, Stephanie Houser tells us how she and her now ex-husband worked and led a "normal life" until they had the opportunity to sell their marketing business. Then he convinced her to sell their home and all their belongings to live on a catamaran sailboat and attempt to sail around the world, with their beloved golden retriever, Celis. She has only one major concern - she doesn't know how to sail. Find out how Stephanie and her crew survived a two-year trip where her husband fell off the boat the FIRST day at sea. Additionally, they ran out of food at one point and their journey was filled with storms, sharks, and a realistic fear of pirates. On the bright side, she also skinny-dipped for the first time. They unwittingly participated in multiple drug deals, the boat ran aground, they lost and found their dinghy multiple times, lived off the sea, and ultimately got hit by lightning and got stuck on an island (albeit an amazing tropical vacation destination, Providenciales, in the Turks & Caicos.) In this hysterical recollection from her travel diaries, Stephanie experiences frustration and fear on a roller coaster mixed with joy and bravery while learning about herself, her husband and her tolerance for a latte less lifestyle.
